Dear Librarian,
Is it at all possible if Books with CD Roms that are borrowed out seperately to have different ID numbers? It's very inconvenient to try put a hold on a library book online, however it's not possible due to the CD Roms that came with the book being available and having the same ID number.

Hi,
There is often a large crackling sort of noise in the Graduate Study Room on level 4. It seems to be coming from the aircon, but I can't be sure about that. It sounds sort of crackly or like there's water dripping in the roof. The noise comes and goes, but it's annoying when it starts up.

Last Thursday, I hesitantly approached the IT help desk at SS&H with my problem: my USB had broken into no less than five parts that very morning (long story) and foolish past-me had not backed-up these irreplaceable files on it in almost half a year. I did a quick google search for solutions and was disheartened by the hundreds of dollars my mistake would seem to cost me. I decided to approach the IT help desk anyway with the hope that they might recommend a data retrieval service that would be more suited to a student budget.
Instead, one of the IT guys available spent the next two hours trying to (and succeeded!) get a copy of my files. He was friendly, very approachable, acted very professionally and his sense of humour helped calm my frazzled nerves. His help went far beyond what I had anticipated (it took two hours!) and his enthusiasm/interest in helping was commendable. I was also impressed at how he multi-tasked and was able to help multiple people at once, which was a very efficient use of time and helped keep the cue of anxious people at the desk short.
I have seeked advice and help from the IT help desk before and they have always been friendly and helpful. This instance in particular though was very memorable and I really wanted to say thanks to the UQ library/services people for hiring such approachable and helpful people, and especially to Chris, the person who helped me. You helped save me money and time, but I was most impressed by the service. May you be blessed with lots of amazing tea!

The printing process is much slower and more complicated than the old one. The printer takes about five minutes to process one page of text before it prints, multiple pages take even longer. Please revert back to the old system, the waiting time is ridiculous.

Hi there,
I recommend the library purchase a copy of "The Statute of the International Court of Justice: A Commentary" as the previous copy cannot be located. It is a crucial resource for UQ Jessup Moot teams as well as students of Public International Law.
