Everyone feels it- the Biological Sciences Library is FREEZING, even on cold days.

There is clearly something wrong with the air conditioning system- especially on level 4.

PLEASE FIX IT so that us poor students have a more comfortable place to study in.

Thanks,

Annie

Hi,

It would be good if the windows on level two (facing towards the museum) also had roller blinds as the sun comes in a lot, hitting peoples arms and sometimes faces, making them a) hotter and b) impacting on their ability to study.

Thank you :)

I am writing this complaint because I am not satisfied with the library's catering for students studying in swotvac. I was in the biological sciences library on the 30th of october from 8am, until 2 hours later when I was removed from my place because there was a scheduled "end note tutorial for the health sciences" class, for which around 30 people had to leave, to cater for 10 people, leaving many computers and tables unoccupied.

I realise that I failed to read the schedule times for classes for that time period, however I find it unacceptable that the library has scheduled classes during swotvac. Because of this scheduled class, I could not find another area to study, despite arriving at the library at 8am so I could guarantee a spot.

All classes must be scheduled before or after swotvac. The library is used by many students as an environment for study. If people need someone to teach them how to use rather ubiquitous software such as end note, and they do not have the ability to figure it out by themselves using online guides, please schedule it for these people OUTSIDE THE TIMES OF SWOTVAC.

I expect this to be the last time that I am inconvenienced by the incompetence of the biological sciences library.

Thank you

I would like to recommend a purchase of the following book. It will be of much interest to students of international relations and peace and conflict studies, and will be particularly useful for my dissertation. It is also the first comprehensive guide to this topic.

Mark Salter and Can E. Mutlu, eds. 2012 'Research Methods in Critical Security Studies: An Introduction. Published by Routledge.

Hello,

I am wondering if it's possible for the library to place some stools or 'high chairs' for the computers that used to be '5 minute only'? The 5 minute sign has since been removed and users can use these computers without a time limit. Many users are probably not using these computers because they don't want to stand at the computers for a long time. The Biol Sci library has stools for the higher-placed computers and I think it would be good if the ones here have the same thing. Thank you.

The apple mouse attached to the macs in the libraries tend to be hard to use due to slow response after clicking and is difficult to manoeuvre. The Dell mouse, in comparison, tends to be more responsive.

I suggest a copy of Proof Through the Night by Glenn Watkins (U of California P, 2003) be purchased for the music collection. This is a highly useful book to anyone researching musical culture throughout the period of the First World War.
