To whom it may concern,

I am a postdoctoral research fellow at UQCCR. I am an anthropologist in the addiction neuroethics team.

I recently published book has come to my attention and I am keen to read a copy. The book reference is:

Lende, D and Downey G (eds) (2012) The enculturated brain: an introduction to neuroanthropology. MIT Press.

If you cannot purchase the book I would be interested in receiving this via document delivery.

Best wishes,

Carla

Hi, could you please tell me the email of the staff who's in charge of purchasing of a new database.
Or could you please forward my mail to the responsible member? The database I want to recommend is 'cnki' , which is China's largest and most influencial academic database. From time to time, I need the Chinese literatures, but just find that we UQ don't have the access to this database. Here in UQ we have many Chinese scholars, I think it would be applausible if we have access to this.

Dear sir/Madam,

I found the library at PACE (level 6) is extreamly noisy especially around 12pm-2.30pm. The study places including the group study rooms are severely disturbed by the noise. I will highly appreciate it if you can pay some attention to this issue.

Best regards,
Samuel

I have noticed on several occasions where people have used the group ports in law library to watch soccer and other television shows. This is not only disruptive to the rest who are studying, but a severe misuse of resources. Can the library block certain television channels etc so that the group ports can be used more efficiently?

Thank you.

Hi I was wondering if there are any plans for renovating the SSH Library to make it a more modern and inviting environment to study. Considering its centrality and its high use, possibly, an extra few levels or extensions could be added to it. Perhaps even a glass facade could be added like with the BSL that allows extra space and more natural lighting. The renovation of the BSL made it one of the most popular study spaces on campus. A similar renovation of the SSH would surely have the same effect. The SSH is by far the most conveniently placed library on campus yet it has the worst facilities (furniture, design, space ect.)

Hello

I was wondering if it is possible to add the following resource to the library. I suggest this resource would be well used by organisational development here in HR at UQ and to students of leadership.

thank you

A few suggestions encouraging logic and common courtesy:

1. People should not be allowed to sit at a desk that has a university computer and not use it. If they do not need to use the computer there are plenty of desks without computers all over the uni. It is rude and inconsiderate. There is a massive shortage of computers at uni already.

2. While there are designated talking/quiet areas, excessive noise should not be allowed.

3. Signs should be put up in relation to the above two suggestions, and security should enforce these rules too.
