Hello,

I'd like to suggest some awareness raising about library computer etiquette.

Every time I try to find a computer in the Biol library there are none free but about 20 left unused with books sitting at the desk. Often I'll sit at one of these computers and the user won't return for around an hour and will be astonished that I've taken the computer in that time.

It's unfair that students leave computers 'bagsed' for hours at a time, when other students could be working on them.

I think we need some signs/posters around the library saying that it is not ok to leave a computer while you go to class, and that if it is left inactive until the screen saver comes on it is ok for someone else to begin using it.

Thanks

As I aware that the group room and individual rooms on level 4 & 5 at Duhig Building hasn't been clean for a while(the rubbish on the floor and desk which I saw a week ago was still there.)

Please advise cleaners to vacuum and wipe down the desk at least once per week.

Many thanks

I find it irritating that people can use library computers for private use, including facebook. When I line up for a computer it is common to see people using facebook for extending periods of time and they don't seem to care that someone is waiting to use the computer for learning purposes. There are limited computer facilities in the library and hence there is usually a wait. Can you please restrict or do away with private usage. As with all students I am paying for my studies and I don't think it's right that I can't use University facilities and services because someone else is using them for private purposes.

Thank you
Maryanne
