I have been searching the library website for the link to find new titles in the library. This used to be provided in the weekly news items, but that no longer appears to be the case. I finally found a list of new titles by doing a search of the library website. The URL for the list is http://library.uq.edu.au/screens/newttls.html
but nowhere can I find a link to this on the library website. Is it hidden, or does it not yet exist?

Hello,

Is it possible for the Library to purchase Strategic Strategic Marketing Management, 5ed, by Alexander Chernev and Philip Kotler (2009 edition). The newest book for strategic MM that is available in the library is dated by 2005, and the reviews for Kotler/Chernov are very good.

Hi,
I would like to suggest that the library purchase a film called Even the Rain (Tambien la lluvia). This film is about the privatisation of water in Bolivia and the local action against it.
Thanks,
Micheline

Dear UQ library,

I am a fourth year engineering student majoring in mechanical and aerospace. I desperately need a book/publication titled "Ramjet Technology" by the corporate author John Hopkins University.

I have been successful in obtaining a single chapter (ch. 8 - Combustor Design) in print at the Dorothy Hill Library, however this is the only portion of the entire book that is available. I have searched the online database NTIS through the library website and was able to locate the remainder of the book; but it appears that the library does not have access to the publication.

This publication is a primary resource to my major design project for MECH4552 and offers unique information in regards to Ramjet design. I hope that you could assist me in obtaining this resource.

Thank you in advance,
Anthony

There are too many people logging on facebook or watching funny irrelevant YouTube clips on library computers. Banning either (or both) sites will result in an increase of relevant academic activity. Just saying.

After receiving my email to tell me that I had been successful in the post grad locker key draw, I went to the Biological Library where I was told the locker I had obtained was. The email did not specify where I was to obtain my key from, and so I went up to the help desk, and asked the person behind the desk. I was told that he had no idea, and to return in about half an hour when the other gentleman returned from lunch.

I returned later and asked the second security man behind the help desk. He was also unsure about where I should get the key from and told me that usually the keys are in the lockers. So I went to the lockers and there were no keys there.

I then returned to the gentleman, and he apologised and said he would have to ask one of the librarians. When he eventually found her, she was not too sure either, and as they were looking around for any information they found another librarian to ask. She also had no idea. They thought that maybe they would be in the DHES Library.

As this had already been so time consuming, I did not want to go all the way over to that library only to find that they weren't there. So I got them to call and find out where they were. After a fair amount of time to figure out who to call, and four phone calls later, they eventually told me that they were at the Social Sciences Loans Desk.

So I walked to the social sciences loans desk, only to find that they weren't available here, they were with the help desk. So after talking to six people I finally got my locker key.

I am thinking that this all could have been avoided, had they included in the email where we were to pick up the locker key, or had the biological librarians been informed as to where the items had been moved to.

Last year you had a weekly item in news of New Items in the Collection. This seems to have been discontinued. Is there a particular reason why? This was a fantastic resource in which people can see what has recently been added to the collection. Considering that there is no "New Books in the Library" area in SS&H this was the only way people could browse what has been added. Would it be possible to bring it back?
