Hi there
Just tried to use the Chemwatch/Chemgold database. I am getting an error message that "chemwatch database has expired" and thus cannot access any info. We need this info to do our chemical safety and risk assesments. Could you please check on your end what might be going on?

Thanks.

Hi! It would be very helpful to be able to duplicate the widgets for "home library" (because I would like to be able to immediately see the working hours of the SS&H and Science library on my homepage, for example) and for "search"
(so I could have a tab for "keyword search", title search and author search on my homepage, and someone else could have a summon it and an ISBN search, for example.

Thank you in advance!
(PS and the new homepage is still much better than the old one, since it has all the info I need in one place - thanks for the upgrade)

Also - maybe a "closest due date for books you have out" widget?

Hi team,

Just a quick note to say that Summon is absolutely brilliant! When I started 8 years ago, I had to go to each database which was time consuming and inaccurate. Summon is a phenomenal improvement. Well done.

Just a suggestion I have for the Social Sciences and Humanities Library. Would it be possible to soften the image of the library up with some greenery. For instance on the Loans Desk there could be a new plant as well as some within the High Use Area (about 3 would do). I am thinking of a pathos plant or plants. Also on Levels 2,3, and 4 perhaps there could be some interactive monitor screens. These screens would have information sessions on them about how to access the library and what resources can be found within the library. The idea would be to make these screens interactive between patron and library. The idea would also be to get people thinking and obtaining information to access the library more. I think the area (High Use) does need some softening up by way of some greenery.

I hope my ideas and suggestions are helpful and I am aware you probably have your own plans anyhow?

Hello,

Is it possible to add The New Rules of Green Marketing: Strategies, Tools, and Inspiration for Sustainable Branding by Jacquelyn A. Ottman to the library collection?

Thanks,

Dear Biological Sciences Library,

If you had not changed the rules to permit people to eat in the library, I would not have to sit next to someone who clearly came here to eat a giant ham sandwich and watch youtube videos while I try to write my doctoral thesis.

The new copiers are great, but I think the library needs to post some proper instructions on how to get the most out of them on their website! Additionally, I keep seeing the signs say "ExpressPrint" etc etc, can someone put up signs explaining what these are? Student's aren't copier salespersons and we just need some explaining. Thanks!

I think the library has broken the Catalogue Firefox search box again. Could you please fix this? It is an extremely useful feature.

Hi there. I am currently in long-term competition with another student to get hold of a key text. Each time I wait ages for this student to return it only for them to request it immediately (this student appears to have a larger appetite for fines than I do). Should late-returning students still be allowed the same priviledges of a one week recall period when they are blatantly using the system? Or is the fine system really a rental fee that for those students who can afford it (at the academic cost of those who can't?) Perhaps instead of fines you should introduce a "no borrowing or reservation period" equal to the lateness of a book. E.g. 7 days late means no borrowing or reserving for 7 days. Something that is equitible so us poorer students can afford the cost of not returning the book!

The UQ Library Catalogue search plugin for Firefox no longer works. ("The server at encore.library.uq.edu.au is taking too long to respond.")
