Hi. I don't know if my previous post got missed in action so here it goes again: Plese!!! adjust the air conditioning equipment in the libraries to more neutral temperatures. It gets REALLY cold inside the buildings while outside is not even too hot, and when it is...having it too cold only can leads to people getting sick. Thanks in advance.
I was denied a Fryer desk key I had booked for two weeks ago, because I didn't have my student id with me, although I did have several forms of photo and other ID. I have had in consequence to waste a substantial proportion of my day, which I could not afford. Could you let me know (a) the precise ... ... wording and location of the rule whereby staff cannot allocate a key even where a student has on them enough ID to obtain a bank account or passport, (b) where this rule is agreed to by the student during the booking procedure, (c) what precisely are the 'security implications' that the staff member assured ... wording and location of the rule whereby staff cannot allocate a key even where a student has on them enough ID to obtain a bank account or passport, (b) where this rule is agreed to by the student during the booking procedure, (c) what precisely are the 'security implications' that the staff member assured ... me would be involved in handing over a key to the amply-identified person who had booked it, and (d) why ID considered adequate for almost any government or commercial agency is not accepted by the Library in the exceptional event of a student having left their student card at home. Thank you.
Eric Hornsby: you give, I am sorry to say, a typically evasive bureaucrat's reply. I asked why it is *reasonable* to cause hours' worth of inconvenience to a patron for no purpose, and you quote a rule. If the rule is unreasonable (which it is unless justified), then quoting it does not provide a reason, only an excuse. Eric Hornsby(ctd): the question is how the loan a *rolltop desk locker key* could possibly require more stringent identification requirements than passports and bank accounts. I had the ID, I had the booking, yet I was forced to lose several hours work. You think the non-justified rule is worth that, but give no reason. 05:50PM 29-09-09 Terminal 800 Eric Hornsby: (more on complaint about rolltop desk key issue) Btw this small input box forces terseness which may appear rude. That was not my intention.
Hi. Just want to know what 'in process' means as in book status. 'Psychiatric interviewing' by Shea is one of the book on my course profile and 2 copies owned by UQ. One is for 2 hour loan and the other says 'in process' and it has been weeks. and I wonder why so many books under my course profile is in different location than St. Lucia..? I had to request the books to be transferred and I bet it has been happening y
