If the staff of the Graduate Economics & Business Library could please make sure that - especially during 'peak times - that undergraduates do not find their way into the BEL library or are asked to leave? At times, half the students present in this library are undergrads!

Hi there. I would just like to point out that the air-conditioning is too cold in the upstairs levels (2 & 3 & in the individal study rooms) of the Dorothy Hill library. It has been going on for a while now. If I want to study, I need to pack a jumper, even though it is very hot outside! I know of other people who also feel the cold. Is there anything you can do about this? Thanks.

Earlier this week, I was angered and disgusted by students using the express e-mail on level 3 SS&H to "chat" online. I was not the only one waiting so I go quite angry with them and insisted that if they did have some uni stuff to do they should leave and do their "chatting" somewhere other than here. Can firewalls/security etc be expanded to prevent these idiots accessing those inappropriate addresses? I will cont

A very big THANK YOU to the kind Library staff member who posted my photocopy card back to me, which I misplaced recently in the SS&H. There was no name on the note, but whoever they are, I greatly appreciate their kindness!

Would it be possible to place a container for cigar ends by the door near the cafe in the SS & H library? At the moment the gutter is full of cigarette butts, and as everyone knows from Finding Nemo: "All drains lead to the Ocean..."

The SS&H libraries collection of new Dell computers are otherwise great (thankyou for firefox!) but on this computer and several others I have used the mouse seems to have a mind of its own and frequently wanders to the bottom-left or upper-left corners in use, which is becoming a little irritating. Could someone check this poltergeist-like phenomenom please?

I would like to request that the hinges for the toilet doors be oiled. I am a first time user of the SSH library and recently studied on Levels 2 & 4. It was quite a distraction to one's studies in such a quiet environment. Also, may I suggest that thought be given to carpeting the stairwell areas due to constant clumping of shoes on the floor.

I read with interest a news item on the Oxford English Dictionary database that institutional subscribers could include an OED search box on their websites. This would be very convenient on the Library website (at least for computers in the Libraries) as it would save having to go through the catalogue just to search for a single word.

No problem with services - library staff are courteous and very helpful. The problem is with the airconditioning... it's FREEZING IN HERE! (Soc.Sciences Library). Please turn it down, people are catching colds and our fingers are going numb! Not to mention the power (read - greenhouse gases) being used to keep us in this refrigerated state... something more comfortable in the 20s (degrees C) would be terrific.
