Go to UQ EndNote home page
- Open Word 2007.
- Click on the Office button in the top left-hand corner.
- Click Word Options at the bottom of the dialogue box.
- When the Word Options window opens, click on Add-Ins in the left-hand column.
- In the Manage drop-down menu, select Disabled Items and click on the Go button.
- The EndNote add-in will show up as Add-in: cite while you write (endnote cwyw.dll)
- Highlight the EndNote add-in and select Enable
- Close the Disabled Items window
- At the bottom of the Word Options window, click OK.
- Close and re-open Word 2007.
- Check that the EndNote tab is visible on the ribbon.
If Word 2007 has crashed while using EndNote, it will disable the EndNote Add-in and the EndNote tools will no longer be visible on the ribbon.
Alternatively, Word 2007 may have detected an error in the add-in. If this has occurred, users will typically be presented with the following error message: "Word experienced a serious problem with the 'cite while you write' add-in. If you have seen this message multiple times, you should disable this add-in and check to see if an update is available. Do you wish to disable this add-in?" [YES/NO]
If a user selects Yes then Word 2007 will disable the EndNote add-in and the EndNote tools will no longer be visible on the ribbon.
In either case, you can restore the the EndNote tab to the ribbon using the following procedure:
