Go to UQ EndNote home page

When viewing references in one of the Cambridge Scientific Abstracts databases, check the boxes to mark any references which you wish to download to EndNote.

When you have finished searching, click on the link Save, Print, Email at the top of the results list.

This will open a new window where you can specify the download format. By default, the database will download your marked records.

Use the drop-down menu to select Full format -- no references.

Ignore the section which deals with creating a bibliography with the QuikBib tool.

Go down to the Save button. To the right, there are radio buttons to select the operating system. Check that the correct button has been selected for your system (PC, Macintosh, Unix).

The screen should now look something like this:

Saving records from CSA databases for import to EndNote

    Click on the Save button.

When prompted, save the records as a Text Document (*.txt).

Import this file into your EndNote library, using the appropriate filter for the database.

Alternatively, you can use a connection file to search the database from within EndNote and import the records immediately. Because of authentication restrictions, connection files for Cambridge Scientific Abstracts databases can only be used on staff computers on campus. They will not work on home computers or public computers in the library.
