Let's take a look at some useful hints for locating information on the web.

Use known web sites

Think about the type of information you are searching for. Do you already know of any web sites that would be likely to contain this information? Go to these known web sites and use their search tool to see if they have relevant information.

Activity - Let's say you are looking for information about fire ants.

Which government department/s do you think would handle the eradication and control of these pests? What are the URLs for the departmental web site/s?
