eScholarshipUQ is currently investigating the feasibility of local harvesting of born digital and digitised UQ research material as part of its testbed program for the Australian Partnership for Sustainable Repositories.
Much valuable UQ research output is either hidden or poorly indexed. eScholarshipUQ will expose such research via the UQ eSpace institutional digital repository, which can be readily searched or browsed.
The metadata will also be harvested and exposed by national and internal gateways and search engines.

OAI to METS XML Converter PHP-based tool (zip file)
ADT OAI HTML Stripping Service Provider This PHP-based tool will be useful for harvesting ADT records until the official ADT OAI Service Provider is released (zip file)
 
 
  About APSR

The Australian Partnership for Sustainable Repositories is a 4-year project whose aim is to act as a centre of excellence for the management of scholarly assets in digital format.

There are 4 interlinked programs, of which one involves a number of testbeds, including UQ's eScholarshipUQ.

The APSR project is funded by the Australian Commonwealth Department of Education, Science and Training, under the Research Information Infrastructure Framework for Australian Higher Education, and is sponsored as part of the Commonwealth Government's Backing Australia's Ability initiative.
