| Encore is a new way to search the library catalogue, plus selected fulltext databases and the web, all at the same time. |

| The catalogue can be searched through Encore by all users. For the purposes of the preview though, searching of the selected fulltext databases will be restricted to on campus library computers.
The Library has selected a representative group of databases and search engines for this search. These are: |

| If you are a UQ staff member or UQ student, and you wish to search across other databases, click on the "More resources" link under the database results and you will be able to search Research Pro, a service offering searching of pre-defined groups of databases or you can make your own selection. This service is not available to other users. |

- A single search allows simultaneous keyword searching across the selected resources
- Results from the catalogue search are presented in the centre panel
- On either side of the centre panel are options for refining your search:
- Facets, such as publication date, format and language
- Subject tag cloud
- Recently added items
- Results from searching the selected databases and searches engines are displayed in the righthand column (Research Pro)
- Results lists are dynamically updated without the page having to be re-freshed
- By selecting one of the databases, the results are displayed in the main panel
- Results lists can be merged into one list
- Save searches for future use via My record
