The Graduate Economics and Business Library is one of the fifteen branch Libraries of the University of Queensland Library.

Location and Layout

The Graduate Economics and Business Library consists of the Graduate Economics and Business Library eZone/School of Economics Experimental Laboratory and the Graduate Economics and Business Library Study Space and is located on level 2 of the Colin Clark Building (Building 39).

The Graduate Economics and Business Library eZone/School of Economics Experimental Laboratory has 30 computers available to postgraduates 24 x 7, with walk-in access from 8am to 6pm, and then authorised card access from 6pm until 8am.

There are times during semester when the School of Economics runs Laboratory workshops and the ezone is unavailable. To obtain after hours access student cards must be enabled by staff in the BEL Faculty Collaborative Learning Centre, Level 1 of Colin Clark Building.

The Graduate Economics and Business Library Study Space consists of a casual learning area, four computers and two group rooms available to BEL postgraduates. The two group rooms can be booked using the Library's online Facilities Booking System.

Access to the Graduate Economics and Business Library Study Space is by authorised card access only, so students booking group rooms will need to have their student card enabled by the staff in the BEL Faculty Collaborative Learning Centre.

Computers and Email

The computers in the eZone and Study Space provide access to the Library website including the catalogue, databases, and the internet including email. Microsoft Office and EndNote are available on all computers. The computers in the eZone have ztree software for use by the School of Economics. The wireless network covers a broad area on the St Lucia campus including the Graduate Economics and Business Library. Powerpoints are available for connecting personal laptops.

Opening Hours

The Graduate Economics and Business Library eZone/School of Economics Experimental Laboratory has walk-in access every day from 8am to 6pm, and then authorised card access from 6pm until 8am. (Use of the eZone is limited to postgraduate students.)

The Graduate Economics and Business Library Study Space has 24 hour access. Access to this space is by Authorised card only.

Group Study Rooms

There are two Group Study Rooms available for use by BEL postgraduate students in the Study Space. Bookings may be made for these rooms up to one week in advance, using the Facilities Booking System.

Each room has access to a computer and an LCD screen which can be used for group work

The Bookings page is released daily at 4pm. To facilitate equitable sharing of the room/s students may use the rooms for a total of three sessions per week. One session is up to two hours. Bookings may be made by entering your UQ username and password in the relevant day, room and time on the Facilities Booking System. Students may alter their bookings themselves if necessary.

Lost Property

Lost property is sent to Security. Security can be contacted on 33651234.

Printing and Copying

There is a network printer in the Graduate Economics and Business Library eZone/School of Economics Experimental Laboratory There is an automatic card dispensing machine in the BEL Computer Laboratory located on level 2 of the Chamberlain Building (35) where copy cards can be purchased and value added to existing cards.
