The British Universities Film & Video Council host and curate nine online databases of film, television and radio content dating from 1896 onwards. The Council have now provided a federated search to the more than 13 million records in these databases. It is also possible to search within one collection rather than across them all. Not all collections make material openly available.

Collections include:

  • TRILT - UK television and radio data, providing listings for more than 300 channels from 1995.
  • News on Screen - a database of 180,000 newsreel and cinemagazine stories.
  • Find DVD - a database of more than 30,000 titles for use in education.
  • Shakespeare - an online database of Shakespeare-related content in film, TV and radio, dating from the 1890s.
  • This Week - program information from ITV's first current affairs series, which ran from 1956-1992.
