Heart disease, stroke, diabetes and cancer may not be catching, but they cause two-thirds of all deaths worldwide. Around 1 in every 8 adults is not just overweight but obese. The full picture of world health issues, including infant and maternal mortality and the ongoing battle in developing countries with treatable diseases like pneumonia and malaria, is included in the WHO's latest World Heath Statistics.
