Please Note: The Blackboard upgrade referred to in this post has been rescheduled to occur during the Summer Semester of 2011.
Please see this post for more information.
Blackboard 9.1 Upgrade & Service Outage Notification
Dear Students,
Information Technology Services are upgrading our eLearning System to Blackboard version 9.1 in early July 2011. The upgrade will help us to continue delivering high quality electronic courses and materials.
This upgrade will take place in the mid-semester break:
- Beginning Saturday 2nd of July at 9am and concluding Wednesday 6th of July at 5pm
- Blackboard will be unavailable through the five days of the upgrade
There are a small number of specific courses where special arrangements have been made to maintain access. If this includes you, your course instructor will notify you.
Otherwise, it is very important that you:
- Download any resources that you will require during the outage
- Discuss the upgrade with your lecturer or tutor if you have concerns about a course
When you login to Blackboard after the upgrade, it may look a little different. When you have an opportunity, take a look through your courses and discuss any differences with your tutor or Ask I.T.
You will receive email reminders closer to the outage.

Blackboard Mobile
After upgrade, are we available to use BlackBoard mobile then?
Blackboard Mobile
Yes, UQ really needs to subscribe to BB Mobile. All other schools have it... It would be so useful for everyone that has a smartphone (=pretty much all of us)
Blackboard Mobile
Good news!
A trial of Blackboard Mobile has started for UQ as of today!!
