Electronic Course Profiles - "Retired" status

Blogs > Social Sciences and Humanities Library Blog

For those of you working on electronic course profiles, you may possibly come across one of your profiles that has the status "Retired", but is still viewable.

Normally, courses are made "Retired" and withdrawn from public view 2 years after they are "Archived" (the last day of the semester's exam period).

However, a few people have reported seeing courses with "Retired" status when it is too early to have happened automatically - a check of Si-Net reveals that there are no students enrolled in the unit, so it is likely that the School has decided to cancel it for the semester.

So don't panic! Check with the administration staff of your School should you get one of these "Retired" courses to make sure it's not being run, and let your LL/LA know.- Jennifer
