For researchers who have an ORCID profile, a new service has been initiated by ORCID that will enhance the visibility of your research outputs. The new data integration tool allows researchers to search DataCite for their data, or other research output and link it to their ORCID account. It uses the global infrastructure of DataCite for tracking datasets, and ORCID for linking researchers and their outputs.

By adding your research data sets to your ORCID profile you can raise the visibility of your research, making it easier to get credit for research outputs (increase your citation count).
Using services such as this also allows your research work to picked up by other applications that track research metrics such as Impact Story.

ANDS has been involved in the development of this service, so that Australia can take advantage of the latest international developments in acknowledging researchers and organisations whose data is reused.
