Google Books, with its 5 million plus collection of items, has become so dominant that competitors may be slow to emerge. One competitor gaining ground - and eyeballs - is the HathiTrust. This digital collection of books is an alternative to Google Books' collection.

HathiTrust's mission is "To contribute to the common good by collecting, organizing, preserving, and sharing the record of human knowledge."

What will you find there? Currently HathiTrust has digitised 10,107,859 volumes, including 5,371,817 book titles and 266,504 serial titles. You will find a diverse range of content ranging from Uniting States Patent indexes to Islamic manuscripts. Enhanced services such as full text downloads are available to member institutions.
