Making it Matter
Most academics are keen to have impact - either by advancing knowledge in their discipline or by seeing positive change come about in society, in economics or in public policy because of what they have done.
But how can you improve your impact? If you are a social scientist, then this report, Maximizing the impacts of your research: A handbook for social scientists is for you. The report (in PDF) was drafted by the LSE Public Policy Group and comments are welcome.
The report covers citations and citation tracking, and how to maximise citations of your work, as well as providing advice on maximising research impact beyond the academy. Given that citation rates in the humanities and social sciences are generally low, the report is timely.
