Digital Preservation Europe has tried to make the topic of digital preservation fun by creating cartoons around the issues. In one cartoon, DigiMan and his team help avert nuclear disaster; in a second, they prevent the crashing of an aircraft whose systems have been hacked.

Digital preservation can be defined as "... a set of activities required to make sure digital objects can be located, rendered, used and understood in the future."

Digital Preservation Europe facilitates pooling of the complementary expertise on the management of digital resources that exists across the academic research, cultural, public administration and industry sectors in Europe.
