How can we encourage researchers to share data?
This was the final debate in JISC's recent Research Integrity Conference. The conference considered the role of universities in safeguarding research integrity and looked into the real issues being faced by universities from a strategic and technical perspective.
Several participants mentioned incentives as key. Making it simpler and clear was also mentioned, as was the issue of trust. Researchers are more likely to deposit and share data via a local trusted repository, rather than use a more distant, anyonymous national archive.
