There have been recent reports in Nature and the British Medical Journal (BMJ) of research misconduct, which is nothing new. Reports indicate misconduct is still widespread. A recent blog set up to report on the accuracy of scientific journalism is Reaction Watch. Once again we are reminded of the importance of critically appraising information and checking sources. Those who undertake a peer reviewing role also have a great responsiblity to check that work they are critiquing is valid. Honesty is the best policy!
