IBM's developers have drafted a profile for linked data to try to standardise the way this data can be re-used.

According to their summary, "W3C defines a wide range of standards for the Semantic Web and Linked Data suitable for many possible use cases ... IBM has found that there are often several possible ways of applying the existing standards, yet little guidance is provided on how to combine them."

Toward a Basic Profile for Linked Data: A collection of best practices and a simple approach for a Linked Data architecture addresses these issues and provides a large range of resources for people new to the Linked Data issue.
