Pangaea is an open access data archive for earth and environmental science.

Most of the data held by Pangaea can be freely used and re-used. Each dataset includes the specific license terms for the data. A few password-protected data sets are housed for ongoing projects; however, all dataset descriptions include contact details for the principal investigator who may be asked for access.

All collections can be browsed, or users can opt to browse the followingsub-sections:

• Atmosphere

Data archived at Pangaea are fully citable and can be cross-referenced with journal articles. There is a link to submit data.
The system guarantees long-term availability of its content through a commitment of the institutions that run it.

The system operates according to the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities.
