PSI might sound like a letter in the Greek alphabet but it's an acronym for Public Sector Information - fast becoming a buzzword in the open data arena. On cue, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner is holding an information policy conference, on 15 November 2011, at the National Convention Centre, Canberra.

The main theme of the day will be Public Sector Information: A National Resource.

Attendees can:

  • find out about the progress of the open government reforms
  • contribute to developing a National Information Policy for Australia
  • share best practice case studies
  • discover how technology provides new opportunities for information management, exchange and sharing.

Australia, like the UK and the USA, already has an open data portal.
