Sip some NecTAR

Blogs > eScholarship: research data, publishing, impact ...

smnectar.jpgThe Federal Government has funded a number of initiatives aimed at boosting Australian research infrastructure. The $50m Research Data Storage Infrastructure project is one, and the $47m National eResearch Collaboration Tools and Resources (NecTAR) project is another. NecTAR has four program areas:

  • Virtual Laboratories
  • Research Cloud
  • eResearch Tools
  • The National Servers Program

and the good news is they want you to propose how some of that $47m should be spent. A Request for Proposal has just been issued, details of which can be found here.

NeCTAR's RFP is a formal process for Australian researchers to apply for funding to build an aspect of any one of NeCTAR's four eResearch program areas. Proposals must be submitted before 4pm AEST on November 2, 2011 via email to proposals-rfp-nectar@unimelb.edu.au.
