Summer Research Scholarship - Postgraduate Students
New Parliamentary Library scholarship
The President of the Senate Senator John Hogg and the Speaker of the House of Representatives Peter Slipper MP have welcomed the launch of the Parliamentary Library's new Summer Research Scholarship.
"The scholarship is an exciting new initiative and a rare opportunity for a postgraduate student to gain experience in a professional research environment," Senator Hogg said.
The scholarship is part of a new Australian Parliamentary Fellowship program. The library is initially offering one six-week Summer Research Scholarship in January-February 2013 to support a research project on a topic of direct relevance to the Australian Parliament. It is anticipated that two to three scholarships will be offered in future years as the program evolves.
In addition to access to the library's collections, facilities and expertise, the successful scholar will receive an honorarium of $1800.
