Summer Semester changes in the Law Library

Some of you may wonder what Library staff do in quieter times … We have made a number of changes over the Summer period, most of which involve a lot of moving of books! You may be aware that there were 2 sequences in the call numbers for Australian law due to oddities in the original Library of Congress classification for the law of Australia and some other countries in the Asia and Pacific regions. We are now in the process of reclassifying some 5000 books previously in the KTA sequence to the newer KU number. This should make it far easier to find the material you want and makes a whole lot more sense. Both the loose-leaf version of Carter’s Criminal Law of Queensland and the most recent edition of the text book will, once the project is complete now sit together on the shelves – a vast improvement.
