EDC now the EUi
The European Documentation Centre collection, which was
interfiled with the general collection, has been moved to the 4th
Floor around the group tables to the right of the lift. The
University of Queensland Library was granted the status of European
Documentation Centre (EDC) in 1995 with the objective of helping
the University to: "promote and consolidate teaching and research
in the field of European integration", and to "make information on
the European Union and its policies available to the public, both
in the University and elsewhere" (Article 4, EDC, Rules, annexed to
agreement) We have now given the collection a distinct identity,
and in the process provided much needed space on level 2 for our
monograph collection. The European Union have also asked that the
European Documentation Centre should now be known as the
EUi Centre.
