Week 15 Semester 2
Hi All, As we all know the world has been shaken up over the past little while with global economic meltdown, Little House on the Prairie being deemed adults only viewing in Finland and the Australian cricket team entering a test match without a single bowler with an average of less than 30. Well I heard of an incident which, potentially, makes these incidents pale into insignificance. As I understand it there are 2 ways laws, or the way they are applied can be altered, Legislation and Case Law. There is a new more powerful force on the rise…..Generational Change! Yesterday my son came home from day care saying a new word. I asked him what it was and he explained it was a word he had made up that afternoon and that his friend Blade had made it up in the morning. This puts an entirely new spin on intellectual property, just because someone has already thought of something, this is not a reason that someone else couldn’t think of it too, in scientific terms it’s called co-evolution. Remember, the Patent Attorney of 2035 is in day care now and obviously must share Nicholas’ views. In preparation for this generational change I invented Velcro, liquid paper, wrote up Newton’s laws of motion and wrote 3 Lord of the Rings screenplays last night. Here at UQ we have access to 959 items dealing primarily with intellectual property, fleeting as it may be. Good luck with exams. Marcos ©2008 Marcos inc
