Week 2 Semester 2
Hi All, Back in the 60s there was a TV show called the "Smothers
Brothers", it was a light hearted comedy sketch show. During the
1967 season they performed a sketch in which they played the role
of censors grappling with the phrase “my pulse beats wildly in my
breast whenever you are near”, eventually changing the phrase to
“my pulse beats wildly in my wrist whenever you are near”.
Apparently, a very amusing sketch, unfortunately no one was able to
see it because the censors cut it, even though there was no
profanity in the work. I’m pleased to say we live in a different
world now and if I feel like saying
“H-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------r”
and not only that,
“S-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------y”
no one will stop me.
To get the pulses beating wildly in your wrists next week, we have
Margaret Sloan-McDonald running a “Finding articles for your
assignments” class in eZone 1 on Tuesday the 5th at 11AM.
If you would like to come to any of the classes that the library
run but times don’t suit, come and see us and we will see what we
can do. Marcos
