Week 15

Hi All, I hope everyone enjoyed the Queen’s birthday holiday. Spare a thought for the people, and there must be many of them, who ducked around to aldi and picked up a popcorn maker or some nice chocolates for our beloved monarch as a birthday gift. Can you imagine the embarrassment of these people when the Queen answered the door at Buckingham palace sans party hat? If these poor souls hadn’t noticed the fact that there were no balloons tied to the gates and none of the Grenadier guards had noisemakers or party whistles a very awkward situation would follow when the Queen explained that her birthday is actually April 21. Should the gifts still be offered? Would it be right to ask Her Majesty if there were any other Queens there, who were celebrating a birthday today? Here at UQ Ipswich we hold 46 titles dealing with etiquette, many of which have been written with just such an occasion in mind. Come in and check one out before your next meeting with royalty.

For the sake of accuracy perhaps we should have celebrated Les Paul’s birthday or Donald Duck’s or Johnny Depp’s. Marcos
