A new national Water Information website from The Bureau of Meteorology has been launched recently in Canberra. It provides free web access to a consistent and comprehensive national picture of the state of Australia's water resources. It is the first of many new water information products from the Australian Water Resources Information System which are aimed at improving understanding of Australia's water availability, condition and use.  Among the upcoming products which will become available via this site are improved Intensity-Frequency-Duration (IFD) information used in the design of gutters, culverts, bridges and stormwater drains.
