More women seeking help to conceive
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare has released its fifteenth
annual report on 'Assisted
reproductive technology in Australia and New Zealand 2009'. Key findings
from the report include:
- 48% increase in the use of assisted reproductive technologies from 2005-2009
- Age of women using autologous assisted reproductive treatment remains stable at 35.8 (when compared to 2008 35.7yrs)
- Drop in the rate of multiple birth continues as the practice of transferring single embryos becomes more common.
