The Australian government outlines in this 29 July 2011 report headline indicators that will be used to report on Australian children's health, devlopment and wellbeing.

"The Children's Headline Indicators are designed to help guide and evaluate policy development by measuring progress on agreed priority areas for children...... Australian children are faring well, but .... It is clear ....that there is scope for further gains across a number of indicators."
