Changes to access at UQ Teaching Hospital Libraries

Blogs > Health Sciences Blog

Dear Hospital Staff

Access arrangements From Tuesday 29th January 2008 there will be changes to electronic resource access at the UQ Teaching Hospital Libraries. Please bookmark the new UQ Teaching Hospital Libraries page which is available from the Hospital intranet. To quickly find electronic journals, electronic books & databases (including free resources) go to the link on this page: Electronic journals, books and databases. The UQ Library will no longer duplicate subscriptions for hospital staff that are available from the Queensland Health network and from Clinicians Knowledge Network (CKN). We are aware that work is underway to provide you with access to the CKN and QHEPS resources 24x7 and we will notify you when this is available. Meanwhile most of the QH electronic journals can only be accessed while working on the QH network. Bookmark the following for QH electronic journals http://qheps.health.qld.gov.au/library/home.htm and for CKN http://ckn.health.qld.gov.au

Future arrangements Late 2007 the Library established a working party to determine the information needs of the hospital staff with the aim of working with both our hospital clients and QH to provide them with library services. The working party will also look at issues relating to the budgets for subscriptions with the aim of resolving budgetary issues during 2008.

If any hospital client has concerns about the changeover they can email Mr Keith Webster, University Librarian and Director of Learning Services: k.webster@library.uq.edu.au
