Gatton Research Skills Training
Do you need to extend your research skills? Don't know where to
start the research process. Perhaps you were not able to attend the
full program when it was delivered earlier this semester. The next
3 week program to develop research skills starts in the Library
this Friday. Why don't you come along.
Module 1: Friday 4th September - 10am - 1pm
The first part of this module discusses UQ resources, borrowing
conditions, document delivery and accessing your library record.
The second part introduces EndNote Bibliographic Software and steps
through the set up a new reference library, manual insertion of
references, and using EndNote with Word 2007 to insert citations
and create a bibliography.
Module 2: Friday 11th September - 10am - 1pm
In Searching for Papers 1 learn how to select and
search appropriate databases. In EndNote find out how to set up
groups, export references from databases, and use filters import
references from databases.
Module 3: Friday 18th September - 10am - 1pm
In Searching for Papers 2 discover Web of Science,
cited reference searching, Google Scholar, and alerting services.
The final EndNote component looks at using connection files to
import references.
All training will be held in eZone 1, Lower Level, UQ Library,
