Blogs > Gatton & External Students Blog

You have done the research and are now ready to do the writing? If you are about to commence writing a very long document like a thesis or research document, or even if you have already started, then Module 4 and 5 of the Gatton Postgraduate Research Skills Program, Creating your Research/Thesis document using Word 2007 Parts 1 & 2, may be for you. Attendees will learn the most important features of Word that help to set up and maintain a very long document. Module 4: Friday 21 August – 10am – 12noon

In Part 1 we will work with using styles to format your document consistently; use the Outline view to create headings and create an automatic table of contents.

Module 5: Thursday 27 August – 10am -12noon

In Part 2 we will look at adding captions to figures and tables, inserting an automatic table of figures or tables; cross references and advanced page numbering and sections.

Participants in this class should have a reasonably good knowledge of using Microsoft Word. Bookings can be made here.
