You have probably read or heard about Jessica Watson, the 15 year old Sunshine Coast girl, who wants to become the youngest person to sail non-stop solo around the world. Jessica will certainly face new challenges on her journey; however she is fortunate to have the support of her family. Her father has even quit his job to help his daughter prepare for her September departure.

For those of you commencing study at University of Queensland this month, you too are facing new challenges. While the waves Jessica will face may be real, the waves new students conquer can seem just as big to each of them. However remember you are not doing it solo and there is lots of support for you during your journey. Staff at UQ Gatton Library are happy to assist you in your preparation as you take on these new challenges. Please drop into the Library and meet us.
