Proquest connection files

Blogs > Endnote Blog

We now have the ability to search individual Proquest databases using an EndNote connection file, which will import the references straight into your EndNote library.

We have set up this facility for the following databases:

ABI/Inform Global Academic Research Library Proquest Education Proquest Social Sciences

These are all listed on our EndNote Connections page.

You download the same Proquest connection file, regardless of which database you want to search. You also have to follow the link to obtain a username and password from our password server, and when you input those, Proquest will know which database you want to search.

There is no IP authentication, so off-campus users should be able to use these connection files from home with a commercial Internet service provider.

The best search option is probably "Abstract (Word/Phrase)" -- type a single word or a single phrase to search the abstracts of the articles.

The references will not import with the full text of the articles, but it will often be possible to locate the full text of the articles from EndNote using WebBridge. The procedure for that is given on this FAQ.
