Mendeley vs EndNote
In recent years, the bibliographic management software Mendeley has become a significant competitor for EndNote. However, while it offers many additional features, there are still a few problems in comparison.
The greatest advantage of Mendeley over EndNote is that Mendeley is free to use and payment only necessary if you wish to increase your online storage and networking capacity beyond the already generous free allocation. As it is simple to migrate references from EndNote to Mendeley, this can be a good solution for researchers who are about to finish at UQ but want to preserve their library of references.
UQ Library does not provide support for the use of Mendeley and continues to recommend EndNote for researchers due to the greater range of features available through this commercial product. Most significantly, Mendeley does not yet offer simple and reliable methods for editing the referencing styles or adding page numbers to citations.
