The International Year of Astronomy 2009 is a global effort initiated by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) and UNESCO to help the citizens of the world rediscover their place in the Universe through the day- and night-time sky, and thereby engage a personal sense of wonder and discovery. To celebrate IYA2009 a display has been mounted for the month of April in the DHPSE Library Foyer, building no.50. The display contains Astral photography and information about some of the exciting research being carried out at U.Q. kindly donated by Prof Michael Drinkwater and Dr Kevin Pimbblet.
