Access to all the information in Beilstein, Gmelin and the Patent chemistry is easier now with Reaxys.

The University of Queensland Library now subscribes to Reaxys which is Elsevier's new research system for accessing the combined experimental substance and reaction data housed in the Beilstein, Gmelin and Patent chemistry databases.

These three databases have been merged, enabling you to do a search across the Reaxys database and get a single set of results. Each record provides details from patents and multiple journal sources..

Reaxys can be accessed through the library catalogue (http://library.uq.edu.au/record=e1002030). You no longer need to download software to be able to use these databases. Reaxys is a web platform, and therefore both Mac and PC users have easy access.

More information about the product can be found on the Reaxys web site http://www.info.reaxys.com/index.php.

The library will continue to offer access to these databases through Crossfire Commander, but this will be phased out.
