SciFinder web is now available making access to this great database much easier.

"SciFinder is a research discovery tool that allows you to explore the CAS databases that contain literature from many scientific disciplines, including biomedical sciences, chemistry, engineering, materials science, agricultural science, and more!" http://www.cas.org/products/scifindr/index.html

It gives you access from 1907 to more than 30 million journal articles and patents, 40 million known chemical substances and 16 million reactions. The web version has most of the features of SciFinder Scholar and several new capabilities including an alerting service 'Keep Me Posted'. There is no software to download and all the tools and features are readily visible. It works well with both pcs and macs. We are also investigating access from home. To access SciFinder web you will first need to register:

1. From the library homepage search for 'SciFinder web' in the catalogue
   
   
2. Click on 'go to this resource'
   
   
3. Click on 'initial registration'

Then follow the instructions given in the SciFinder User Registration page.
