On the Library homepage there is a link to an ‘Encore Preview’ the new catalogue search interface currently being previewed. An Encore search not only includes the UQ Library catalogue [Encore] but Google Scholar and selected databases. Find out more about what an Encore search includes here.

Encore represents a new generation library interface offering faceted navigation, tag clouds and federated searching. Faceted navigation labelled as ‘Refine by’ in the left column is an easy way to limit search results e.g. to all journals. Another way of limiting search results is to use the tag clouds labelled as ‘Refine by Tag’ on the page right. Clicking on a tag from the cloud provides a narrowed set of results with your selected tag appearing in the breadcrumbs trail at the top of the page results list. Selecting additional tags further limits your search. The link at the bottom right of the page ‘Research Pro results’ will take you to the simultaneous search results from Google Scholar and a number of selected databases.
