Register online to attend the Tedi Patent workshop on Thursday 30 August, 10-12noon. The workshop will look at searching patents databases such as Derwent Innovations Index and Esp@cenet: Europe's network of patent databases.

Patents are a vital source of technical information, and are useful if you are looking for technical specifications, diagrams or information about the products of a particular company. They can also save you time by helping you avoid duplicating other people's research.

This course will enable participants to: 1. Select appropriate databases/internet sites to find the patents information that you need 2. Search databases to find known patents 3. View and print full-text patents 4. Use databases/the internet to find patents on topics or subject areas 5. Find sources of information about the patenting process on the web
