The Library has recently subscribed to the innovative CSA Illustrata a “deep indexing” search method which extracts tables and figures from journal articles, indexes each table and figure, provides a retrieval method to locate tables and figures or complete articles that contain relevant figures or tables, and link them back to the article. Illustra facilitates the searching of information presented in tables, figures, charts, maps, photographs and other illustrations within scholarly articles. Read an article about Illustrata here.

Illustrata is an integral part of the University of Queensland Library's CSA Illumina subscriptons. The indexed tables and figures appear as a Tables & Figures tab in a search results screen when searching CSA Illumina databases.
