Dental Health Week
Launched this week by the Australian Dental Association (ADA),
this year’s focus is Tooth Erosion. Recent research
conducted in Australian schools which covered over 700 children,
found that 68 per cent of students had at least one tooth showing
signs of erosion.
The ADA has said the surge in the consumption of fruit juice bar
and sports drinks products amongst young people, has been a
contributing factor. The Dental Health Week campaign has been
tailored to three distinct age groups: These groups include:
• Tooth erosion in Children & Teenagers • Tooth erosion in
Adults & Pregnancy • Tooth erosion in Older Australians
